Community

In honor of their 25th Anniversary, the PFA Board of Directors and staff are excited to announce the launch of the Community Connector Campaign. The dedicated resources from our anniversary fundraising efforts will allow Pathfinders for Autism to deepen the organization to fully connect the Maryland autism community with tailored Safety, Community, and Resource programming by the year 2030.  When successful, all individuals with autism and their families are deeply supported and connected with their community.

When fully funded, the Community Connector Program will:

  1. Hire and train new community-based professionals in each geographic region in the state to serve as PFA Community Connectors. They will work at the grassroots level to deliver PFA’s Safety, Community, and Resource programming. We expect the first professional to be in place by 2026.

  2. Build community through event programming and strive to be the go-to resource for autism. All activities will be tailored to the local community they serve.

  3. Recruit and train volunteers to support the Community Connectors activities and to serve as advocates in community and local business networks.

  4. Expand awareness and advocacy programs on PFA pillars – Safety, Community and Resource in Maryland’s five geographic regions.

To fund this programmatic expansion, we are committed to raising $1,800,000 through our Community Connector Campaign. This will enable us to have a PFA Community Connector working in each of the 5 regions by 2030.
